Helllllo there I'm Amy :) I am a graduate with a 2:1 degree in Stop Motion animation. My main specialty is creating characters and environments using fabric such as felt. This blog is just a place for me to share some of my work. I have a long way to go still but, I'm determined to improve my skills and someday make a living out of something I'm passionate about :) I hope you all enjoy viewing my blog and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I don't bite :)

Needle felting work from the summer :)

After finishing my second year of University and now going into my third, I feel I have finally found a style I embrace and enjoy. Which is needle felting! Way hay!

This little feltie I made a few weeks after working on my film in June 2013. She is the same type of character as the ones seen in my film. I just kinda came up with the idea if my two character Selene and Spark had a kid, what would they look like. I always like the idea especially in animation that the parents and child look practically the same but just with slight differences. I've always found the idea of this quite funny :P and after making her, I just decided to take pictures of her in my garden on a very sunny June afternoon.

I believe these came out very well and I love them so much. I did make her slightly pose able and gave her a very simple armature inside but she'dd be useless to animate with.

I just thought I'd post these pictures because for once I'm quite proud and happy with what I have made here no matter how simple it is.

I'm planning on doing my 3rd year film using needle felting once again :) I do have an idea well sort of but nothing is solid as of yet but I definitely have something brewing :) But even with my new idea, my original little feltie creatures won't die out and I will always have a special place for them and who knows they may turn back up on this blog every now and then..

  1. Hi Amy. I have to say you have made some very cute characters! Does your young feltie have a name yet? I look forward to updates on your Y3 project! Kind regards, Brian.
