Helllllo there I'm Amy :) I am a graduate with a 2:1 degree in Stop Motion animation. My main specialty is creating characters and environments using fabric such as felt. This blog is just a place for me to share some of my work. I have a long way to go still but, I'm determined to improve my skills and someday make a living out of something I'm passionate about :) I hope you all enjoy viewing my blog and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Been seriously neglecting the blog posts..

Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I have not posted anything in the last few weeks, even though it's my priority to keep this blog updated :/ I hope to post regularly from now on but I always say that but anyhow I have made hands for my girl armature YAY! Here's some pictures :)

To start off, I did some wet felting to make a single sheet of blue felt that I would use to cover the hands.
I will give a full explanation of how you can do wet felting in my next blog post!

I cut a small section of the blue felt from the sheet I made and needle felted it around the wire frame of the hand.

As you can see it works extremely well in covering the hand. I continued to needle felt around the fingers and palm until the hand is completely covered so it looks like...

THIS!!

The felting still needs to refined afterwards to make it look a lot presentable, but the great thing about needle felting is you can always come back to it later on :)

  1. Hi Amy! I know what you mean about wanting to post more often and then not doing it, I'm terrible for it so I can sympathise!
It's great to see your characters start to take shape (literally!) I'm really looking forward to seeing more!
    Kind regards, Brian.
