About Me

Helllllo there I'm Amy :) I am a graduate with a 2:1 degree in Stop Motion animation. My main specialty is creating characters and environments using fabric such as felt. This blog is just a place for me to share some of my work. I have a long way to go still but, I'm determined to improve my skills and someday make a living out of something I'm passionate about :) I hope you all enjoy viewing my blog and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I don't bite :)

Beginning to sculpt :)

After completing my moulds, I moved back onto sculpting the head of my character. I have added a K & S locking system for the different mouths that will be made ready for lip syncing as part of my latest animation. Also, I have used discarded bracelet beads for the eyes. They aren’t perfectly white but I thought seeing as my character isn’t technically human it shouldn’t matter if they are a little off colour.

To make my puppet’s hair, I attached blue sponge material to separate pieces of twisted aluminium wire and cut and shaped them with scissors to achieve the desired shape.

Then, I stuck them into holes in the back of the head and glued them in with hot glue. I decided to try this method because I wanted to give my hair a little bit of moment and I would have been unable to achieve this if I had just sculpted the hair on top of the head.
