Some basket designs too!

As my character needs a container to carry fruit around in, here are some very simple basket designs I coloured up. I plan to try weaving the basket myself but I have never done so before so it may be a little tricky. But there's a first time for everything right? :)

Just some quick coloured up fruit designs that will be growing from some of the trees in my set. I'm still not fully decided on which ones to use but I will cross that bridge later on :)

Background Design

Thought I'd post up a coloured background for what I would like my set to look like. I want the trees and bushes to be flat and cut out in style. I just hope it will work out when I actually get round to making them :P

Friendly Creature Expressions and Actions

I haven't put up much work for this little guy except the turnaround so here's some expressions and kind of action poses for him. I think they look rather eye catching and appealing plus I think he looks super cute :3 Hope he looks even cuter when he's physically made :)

Gotta say I could never be a 2D animator. I would never be able to keep the drawing consistent. So I apoligise for the lack of consistency in my expressions. Ah well..at least they are pretty to look at right? :D 

Thumbnails :)

Haven't posted up anything story related for my film so I thought I better had. Here are some quick thumbnail storyboards I did weeks back when trying to nail down the story for my film. Certain things have changed and certain shots I plan to change or get rid of them completely but I only have a week left of pre production so I'm a bit panicky and I haven't even got a full animatic yet. I feel the pressure is on also because I had a good mark in my last project I got a 1st! Yippee for me! Just quite concerned and I want to keep the good quality of work up and I still feel I have so much more to do and so little time left! But I hope to get it all done and get a good grade once again :) I apoligise if my thumbnails make no sense to anyone but I hope to fully explain my story when I actually post up my animatic up next week.

Concepts for trees and bushes :p

More development work :) Decided to try and come up with some different shapes for the trees and bushes in my film. The two middle ones are a bit wild and wacky for my liking but I thought I'd try something a little different. Hope to do a few more of these just to show a bit more development with my work as I usually struggle to do that anyway :/ 

That's all I got for these so far will post up more work soon :)

Fruit for thought anyone?

Haven't really posted much work up in the last week or so. Christmas and New Year have made me very lazy but I hope to knuckle down and get back to work as I only have a few weeks left to complete the pre-production for my film. Frankly, I can't wait to get it done and move on with the production of my film. I'm excited and terrified at the same time but I hope it all works out in the end :)

But anyhoo here are same really quick and simple concepts I have done of well.. fruit. In my film, there is one big tree that produces the only food in the forest where my characters live. As I've been focusing a lot on my characters, I now need to focus on the props, backgrounds and sets etc. so I came up with these. 

I may do a few more pages of these and try out different shapes and colours but time is getting short and I need to ensure I get everything done in time.

I am back in University from Monday so I hope to post up the final pieces of my pre-production as I get closer to the deadline which is 2 weeks today I believe.

More Turnarounds!

Drew these out the other night and here they are all coloured up! I may change the colours but I'm going for a very blue theme with my characters so why not! As you can tell, one of them looks a bit different to the one pictured at the bottom. And I shall explain the reason why! In my story, the girl character (she isn't human even though that is totally obvious don't even know why I wrote that but I'll carry on) is kinda like a care taker to these little guys and feeds them delicious fruit everyday. The creature seen at the top has a little more of a personality and isn't so much of a mindless drone compared to the creature pictured at the bottom. He also contributes a bit more to the story too :) But I won't get into that yet.. but all will be explained in the end!

Hope everyone had a lovely Xmas :3 Now back to Uni work! Here are two poses I did for my action sheets. I still need to do more but seeing as I've concentrated on the girl character WAAAAAAAAY too much, I thought I'd try and do some stuff for the little creatures that will be in my film. Gonna post some stuff up of those little guys after this post :)

Turnaround Time!!!

Here's the colour turnaround for my main character of my 3rd year film. I thought I'd get it out of the way now just so its done as I normally struggle when it comes to turnarounds :/ I will probably make some changes and alterations but this should do for now :)

Just wanted to post another coloured version of my character up on the blog :) Still deciding whether or not to make her arms a bit abnormally long or to keep the short body with the long legs. Still undecided but I hope to come to a decision soon :) Enjoy the pretty picture though :)

Background and Set Development

            

             

A quick coloured version of an idea for the shape of the trees and bushes for my set in my film. I want the background to be cut out and flat in nature. A direct contrast to my puppets :) The shape of the tree and bushes should change but I hope to keep the colours as close to this as possible :)

Rough Monster Designs

Some rough and quick digital colour versions of concept for my monster. They are quite crude but I have tried to simplify it down as much as I can but I still want it to look intimidating at the same time. Still in progress :)

Monster and Small Critter Designs

Some more doodles of the development of my characters for my 3rd year film. The little creatures I have tried to mix them up slightly sometimes giving them legs and no arms and arms and no legs but I think I have ultimately decided to give them neither :P  Just little blobs with a big mouth :P I still haven't decided on a final design as I feel I still haven't done enough development still.. :/ I am struggling to come up with a cool and interesting design for the big monster but I have a few ideas which I will put in the next post :)
